Kensington Update!!!!

Sooo, Kensi's had her cast on for a lil over two weeks now!!! Every day has been good for the most part, but every once in awhile she gets a lil ticked--LIKE TODAY!!! It breaks my lil heart to see the frustration on her lil face. You can see her trying to move her legs and kick like she used to and move around and then start crying when the only thing moving is her lil tootsies. :( I love her so much and I'm sure we BOTH cannot wait for her to get this dang cast OFF!!! She's taking it like a lil trooper though... we normally only have one day a week, and she has every right to get ticked that much ha

She loves her lil bouncer now--- we got a beanbag for her cast but it just eats her right up... so the bouncer is now her special seat!!! Good thing we only paid twenty bucks on just a cheaperoo beanbag ha

Other Kensi news: she HATES the blowdryer! ha It was kinda funny the other day I was doing my hair and she woke up in the middle of me blowdrying my hair so I figured I'd just lay her on my bed while I finished blowdrying and as soon as it came on she cried big crocodile tears. I thought maybe she just wanted to be held so I sat her on my lap and tried to finish blowdrying again and same thing happened. Now I have a baby who HATES the blowdryer and a puppy who HATES the vacuum(and tries to fight it).

She is still the CUTEST baby alive--there's no competition. I love taking her out, because EVERYBODY says she looks like the Gerber baby :D Talk about a compliment for Miss Kensington!!! I love her more than words can express and can just sit and play with her for hours. We definitely got lucky!!!! Here are some pics I took of her the other day when we had a shopping day!!!

F.R.U.S.T.R.A.T.E.D!!!

Sooo, today was a less than perfect day... actually it was quite a bummer of a day. My reasoning for it being such a dreadful day Bri thinks is a wee bit silly... so I'm taking my frustrations out on here ha I HATE OUR INSURANCE COMPANY!!!!!!!!! When I worked at the dental office, I knew I hated it, but my experience today was the icing on top.

Here is my sad, depressing,some may think ridiculous reason, for not being a fan of today :D

We went to go get Kensi's 6 month check-up with her doctor that I LOVE!!! I think that after you see a certain doctor for a LONG time(Granted 6 months is NOT a long time) you form a friendship. He's just super nice, and seems like he genuinely cares 'bout Kensi(some doctors are NOT so personable *cough*cough* MY doctor :D). Anyways, so we got THIS INSURANCE for Kensi's pricey surgery,even though I'm not a fan. We had to choose between it covering Primary Children's or IHC(where her dr. is). What I don't get is IHC referred us to Primary and most insurances don't cover both of those places sooooooo why oh why would they refer us and make us have to choose??? We figured, hmmm lets do Primary Children's since that costs more and we'll just pay out of pocket for her regular check-ups. Well Folks, APPARENTLY ya can't do that. We went to check her in today, and I told the receptionist we were going to just pay since we couldn't get on a group plan that our Doctor took. She bluntly informed us, well that's insurance fraud(w.t.h. is insurance fraud???) I was thinking in my head, well you are still going to get your money and isn't it a choice to use insurance or not since this isn't my strong points of expertise. Soooo, she said either we needed to cancel our insurance and be self pay or find a new doctor. I called Bri over to handle it.... well ended up... we were turned away for our appointment. It was embarrassing and humiliating and just plain sad all at the same time, since there were a few mom and kiddos in the waiting room waiting to see THEIR doctor(lucky ducks). So, we packed up and I was trying to hold my tears back as we did the walk of shame to the elevator. And then what made me even sadder, is her sweetheart of a doctor chased after us so he could atleast see how she was after her big surgery. Which just devastated me, because I wanted him to do our every other month check up, and tell me what foods came next, and just check her out, and I couldn't. He was apologizing for STUPID insurances, and I lost it... tears came down my face as I told him we would figure it out so we could see him. It was awful. He was the perfect Pediatrician, and it's hard finding good doctors. I for one am not a fan of my special girly doctor, but don't have any clue who else to go to. And he was a gem...who knew everything that's been going on with Kensi from day one. It just sucks.

Solution Bri came up with: We are first going to see if we can get Select Access(which is accepted by BOTH primary and IHC). If not, I have to take Kensi to a clinic for her 6 months appt(which just sounds awful, I want to go see her doctor, plus clinics sound scary) and then after her hip stuff is done we'll cancel OUR DUMB INSURANCE and get on Bri's company's insurance and I'll get to go back to my comfort zone--Dr. Davis. Which isn't an awful plan nor long time to wait to go back to see OUR doctor, but I just hated today. I don't like the thought of going to a new doctor with them knowing nothing 'bout our lil health problems and DEFINITELY not some Dr. who is still getting trained... ugh Frustrating.

Anyways, this is one big rant. I know it's stupid, I just needed to rant on something. Does anybody else feel this way bout their Doctors or am I just a crazy chickadee as Bri probably thinks I am after I cried ha Please tell me I'm not alone ha

Kensi had her CT scan today at Primary's and they got her hip back in place... SUCCESS. Atleast we didn't get turned away from THAT appointment

GoTtA HaVe It!!!

Sooo... I've been doing online shopping andddddddddd I want... actually.. NEED this for Kensi's room. I have tons of decorations and nowhere to put them. Thinking this will be my treat from the Easter bunny hahaha Look how cute!!!

Oooo how I love this(It's the one on the top... the one on the bottom is too big to go above her crib) Alright... that's all hahaha I should probably stop looking at decorations-- It always gets me in trouble ha

Making Plaster Look GOOD...And hip surgery/cast Update :D

So last week Kensi got her lil surgery!! Just thought I'd give a lil update-roo on her!!! She is doing soooooooo good!! I think she's finally gotten used to bein a plaster baby!!! Since she can't move her legs, she moves her hands and arches her back allll the time now-- just a new skill she's learned ha (NOT one of my favorite tricks) She can't wear pants so she just wears tonnnns of cute dresses! She sleeps and plays just fine and I've finally adjusted to doing things a new way-- I've mastered the tricky diaper changing and movin her around. One thing that's going to come out of this for me-- some serious guns ha We got her a lil beanbag but she's not a fan, but her bouncer actually works the best and she really likes it! She just hangs out on that if for some reason I can't hold her. The third day after she got it done was rough, but life's back to normal now. She looks as cute as ever and makes that hot pink cast look cute too!! Here are some pics!!!

All in all we are doing just dandy with this cast and all are adjusting to it just ducky too!!! Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!!! Toodles for now!!!!

Be Mine!!!

This year I got lucky--- I had TWO Valentines :D For the big day of love-- we just hung out and wore our red and pink. We went to my Golden Gram's for the big Valentine's day dinner. Every year my family makes spaghetti--we've been doing it ever since I can remember. Bri gave me these dang cute wooden sign decoration things for my kitchen-- one says salt and the other says pepper!!! We gave Kensi a lil jewelry box that plays Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Bri got some work clothes since that's all he wanted!! It wasn't anything big or special but just nice being with everyone that I la la LOVE!!!!

How was ya'lls Valentine's Day??? Hopefully just amazing!!!!!!

My mom was in town to help out with Kensi's lil surgery-- more than anything for moral support ha It was so nice having her in town!! Kensi loved her so dang much-- she'd just smile at her all the time and always grabbed her lil nose and mouth! Nobody who was holdin her she would not take her eyes off my mom. It was sooo dang cute!!! We had lots of fun even though she came out for the surgery-- lots of hanging out, shopping, and eating yummy food!!! I was so glad she was able to come out :D Here are just a few pics!!!

I was so bummed when my mom left, but me and Kensi girl are going to go out for a month during the summer to be with my family since I don't get to see them much-- don't worry bout Brian-- he's going to Mexico this summer hahaha

Kensi's Half Birthday!!!!

Kensi turned half a year old on February 12th so we had a lil half birthday party for her!!!! It was just our lil family and my sister, Mads and my cute lil mom! We gave her just a lil something for a present and so did Daisy and MiMi.

(She got the lil white puppy stuffed animal from Daisy, a dollhouse piggybank from us, and the lil apothecary jar to hold all her bows from MiMi :D)

And what would be a party without cake?!?! Since we are doing cake for her 1st birthday we just got yummy Sweet Tooth Fairy cupcakes :D

She got sung to and even blew out a candle--well kinda-- I blew it out for her haha

She loved her lil cupcake..she just grabbed the plate and pulled it to her and just stuck her hand right in the frosting... as she was eating her hand full of frosting she just kept going "mmmm" ha

Happy 6 months Kensi!!!! I can't believe how big she is gettin soooooooo fast!!! She smiles and laughs all the time... and she has a new trick-- she fake coughs... she thinks it is SOOOOO funny! We love our lil cupcake so much :D

Kensi's Lil Surgery!!!

Yesterday was Kensi's BIG surgery day!!! We had to be at Primary Children's at 8:45am and her surgery started at 10:15am :D She couldn't eat anything starting at midnight the night before but it wasn't a big deal since she sleeps 12 hours at night :D So we just loaded her up with extra food the night before. We also had Bri Guy and my Grandpa Kay give her a blessing. The day of we checked her in and had to wait like 30 minutes after that before passing her off to the anesthesiologist(sp?). She did sooooo good... poor lil thing was hungry as heck but she hardly cried at all and just went to sleep while we rocked and she held on tight to her lil bunny that is her favorite toy :D She was only in surgery for an hour and then I got to go in the recovery room so I was there when she woke up!! I got in there and she was SUCKING ON A BINKY!!! It was a miracle I tell ya-- now they are her best friends. She was just way way outta it all day yesterday since the anesthesia lasts 24 hours... She just slept the day away. She has hardly cried at all-- she is such a lil tough cookie :D They didn't have to do any major cuts on her yesterday--it was a closed surgery so all they had to do was pop that lil sucker back into place... they did have to make just a teeny tiny barely there cut to get the cotton swab with special stuff they put on the socket to check for any extra tissue blocking it from going back in but it was NEGATIVE...so it was the easier of the two surgeries. I'm so glad they didn't have to cut my lil baby up!! :D Today she is back to her happy self-- she has hardly cried at all but I can tell she is a lil annoyed and frustrated she can't kick her legs or grab her feet anymore... Or sit up as straight as she liked too. She's just taking it with a big old smile though with her binky in her mouth and bunny in her hand :D Last night my mom and sister were here to help out and play games ;) hehe And both sets of my grandparents and aunt Natalie came over to check on Kensi too! Everything is just aok with Kensi and I'm so glad we got some pain killers for her so she never has to hurt :D We go in next Friday for a CAT scan to make sure they got it in the right place-- so we'll know for sure it was a S U C C E S S then :D Thanks everyone for your prayers and thoughts-- we are all doing just dandy at our house and are just glad to have it done and over with!!! I've finally gotten the hang of it-- It was tricky changing her diaper and moving her around because the cast makes it a lil awkward to hold her... but I've got it figured out and am not having any more problems with it :D THANK GOODNESS!! She just wanted me to snuggle her and that bunny for her to snuggle! :D Bri and I were calling her our cheerleader before her surgery because she always puts her hands up in a "V" and LOVES football...so now we just joke she's working on her Cheerleading splits for her toe touches :D

Just a Lil Somethin' Somethin' :D

Some good and some bad news:

We'll start with the GOOD!!! MY MOM GOT TO TOWN ON SATURDAY!!!!!! It has been so fun having her so close :D Sunday we had a big ol' Superbowl Party(most of us were more excited for the special Glee though) and we went and got some pics done-- Here are some of my favorites :D

Today we just ran errands and did some shopping and ended the day with a Mexi dinner at my Golden Grams.... It was yummy!!!

Now for the bad:

TOMORROW is Kensi's surgery.... I am just anxious to get it done and over with. I'm really hoping she won't have to stay overnight but I guess we'll have to wait and see. She can't eat/drink after 7:15 tomorrow and they are going to take her back to prep her at 8:45. It's going to be a long sad day tomorrow. I just can't wait to have her home and hopefully she won't be too sad or unfomfortable. I know everything will be okay... I'm just ready for it to be Wednesday.
